I have visited all the villages of Kocaeli and drank tea of each, visited almost all around Turkey and photographed them as a nature lover amateur photographer and I feel myself as a tourism ambassador whose mission is to introduce the beauty of Maşukiye and Kartepe region. While Yuvacık both close to the metropolis like İzmit and İstanbul, it is also a countryside. You can reach to this beauty with a one hour drive from İstanbul. We recommend that you start seeing the city from the center, whose pavements are covered with cobblestone.

There are plenty of mansions in İzmit. Most of these mansions are from the time of Ottoman and some of them are restored and took the opportunity to meet the visitors nowadays. The subject of today is the mansion of Selim Pasha, who was an important person during the times of Ottoman Empire. Today I share valuable information with you after my visit to the mansion.

One of the rivers that feeds the Yuvacık dam is Serindere, it is beaituful at four seasons. Its plant cover, natural beauties and with its affluent water it is the favourite place for nature trekkers. It is one of the most daily visited place in Izmit, which is 26 kms away from İzmit. Along with the industrial identitiy, Kocaeli is becoming famous with its nature tourism identity as well. It is possible to see people trekking or camping in Serindere anytime of year.
